MANCHESTER 2ND'S
The 1st game of the season; a very anticipated home fixture with a much changed squad and little time to get acquainted, had the potential to be a bad start to the season.
Those fears were dispelled with a solid team performance securing a 17-0 win against Manchester University 2nds. Lancaster were led by Tim Bell’s leadership on the pitch coupled with a first time shut out by Luke (Granddad) Wilson and with a strong performance at face-off from Ghandi and Tim we were able to set up many fast break situations.
Mike, Christian & Pancho contributed to the scoreboard on their first, team appearances whilst the multiple goals from seniors Harry, Rob, Brock, AJ, Tim and Ghandi dominated the attacking transitions .
With such a positive performance from a squad barely acquainted with each other, next week’s home game against Bangor gives the opportunity to expand on a promising start to the season and get more freshers onto the pitch to experience this awesome sport.
Also we would like to say thank you to coach mike for refereeing at such late notice!
Scorers – Harry (4), Ghandi (3), Tim (1), Christian (3), Rob (1), AJ (1), Simon (1) , Pancho (1), Mike (2)
MoM – Christian for his performance in midfield.
DoD – Hobnob for twerking on the goalie/defence..

BANGOR IST
Lancaster followed up their great win last week by defeating the strong Bangor 1st team 10-2, even without last years MVP, Luke Wilson, in net. After 2 dramatic encounters last year, this commanding
performance puts the team in a great position for the upcoming season.
Lancaster was off to the best possible start with Harry Herbert scoring an early goal to give the team great confidence to start the game. After this, the game was Lancasters to control, with great performances from Andy Challis and Rob Pearson to dictate the pace of the game from midfield. This, in unison with an immense defensive display from Gage Crispe, and an valiant debut between the sticks from Liam Powell, and a great attacking performance from Herbert, Christian & Jeff made for a comfortable victory for the home side. The second win of the season sets Lancaster up nicely to the home game next week against UCLan.
A big thank you to Mike for taking one for the team and reffing the game for us!
Scorers: Harry(3), Christian (2), Jeff (2), Rob (1), AJ (1) Ghandi (1)
MoM- Jeff for a great attacking display
DoD- Pancho for turning up to the game with no kit after being at the storecupboard for what seemed like hours.

UCLAN 1STS
Lancaster kept up their 100% record for the season with a commanding 30-0 performance, over a newly formed UCLan side containing some of
Lancasters own.
This game was a great chance for freshers to get some first team action, as Lancaster never looked like breaking sweat, showcasing great experience in both attack and midfield to yet again control all aspects of the game.
By the final whistle, 10 different players had managed to get themselves on the score sheet, illustrating the immense strength in depth available to the squad this year.
This victory puts Lancaster top of the table, with an impressive goal difference of +55 after just 3 games. Next week sees another home game against Chester.
A big thank you to captain Ghandi for officiating the game for us!
Scorers- Rob (6), Mike (5), Christian (4), Tim (4), Liam (4), Jack (2), Jeff (2), AJ (1), Neil (1), Simon (1)
MOTM- Rob. Scored 6 goals whilst playing LSM, controlled the game for the home team.
DOTD- AJ. For being so overwhelmed by the action happening metres away, he needed to fall over.

CHESTER 1STS
Lancaster kept up their impressive 100% start to the season by beating a well drilled Chester 1st team 12-6 on a cold, damp November afternoon.
It had been clear for weeks that this game would be a tough test for the Lancaster side, and they did not dissappoint.
The early goal by Simon gave the home side confidence to set out its stall for the rest of the game, and control the game from midfield, making use of the experience of Tim and Rob.
The great attacking movement persistently shown by Mike, Christian and Harry, amongst others, coupled with the solid defence displayed by Gage, Dave, Lee, Rob, Ash & Joe made for what was another impressive home victory for the team.
The victory sets Lancaster up nicely for next weeks first away game of the season versus our closest rivals in the league, Keele.
A big thank you to captain Ghandi for officiating the game for us!
Scorers: Christian (3), Mike (3), Harry (3), Rob (1), Simon (1), Tim (1)
MOTM- Dave. Solid defensive display (apparently).
DOTD- Hobnob. Came on the pitch for 12 seconds. Ran into the ref. Injured himself. 1 minute penalty.

KEELE 1STS
Lancaster met it toughest test thus far this season, facing 3rd placed Keele in the first away game of the season. The weather conditions, on an unfamiliar
playing surface, made for a very tough game for Lancaster, but they rose to the challenge.
The very tight, low scoring affair was won 9-6 by Lancaster, where immense credit must be given to the entire team, which contained only 4 players who had played lacrosse before starting with Lancaster university.
The first goal was scored by Simon, which gave the away team an early boost, dispelling any pre match nerves that may have been present. Although the game was tight throughout, Lancaster never went behind, partly thanks to the great goalkeeping display by Luke, and the solid (as ever) defensive work of Gage. This coupled with hat tricks for Rob & Harry, bought the 3 points back to Lancaster, maintaining the 100% start to the season, with a healthy goal difference of +64.
Scorers: Rob (3), Harry (3), Christian (2), Simon (1)
MOTM- Gage. In his last game for Lancaster before he departs back over the pond, he put a great shift in at the heart of defense.
DOTD- In a rare move, the team elected that every single player played their heart out, and no-one was warranting of dick of the day.

home teams hands, with the swamped grass field differing greatly to the home astroturf playing surface the squad would usually be accustomed to.
The game got off to a rushed start, with Lancaster having to delay the faceoff by 15 minutes, so that D-man Lee and Rob in LSM could take their places in the starting 11. This makes the feat of being 6-0 up by half time all the more impressive, due to both the great play by the teams attack, and the shut out from stand in keeper Liam.
Things were not all so easy from there however, with Chester slowly creeping back into the game, coming to just 2 points behind. Lancaster regained control of the game thanks to a great solo goal from Pancho, and great attacking play shown by Mike, Andy, Harry and AJ. The last 5 minutes involved a solid defensive display coupled with vast amounts of possession in the midfield area, which Chester could not reply to.
Lancaster need just 1 point from their remaining 2 games to ensure the league title!
Scorers- Mike (2), Harry (2), Andy (2), AJ (1), Rob (1), Pancho (1)
MOTM- Liam. Pulled off a number of great saves in the first half to ensure that Lancaster maintained a strong lead. Luke should be worried.
DOTD- Pancho. Shit passes.
Lancaster faced Chester in their first game of 2014, where they managed to come away with an impressive 9-7 in unfamiliar conditions. The playing conditions massively played into the

lacrosse team as the best sports team on campus.
The game got off to a great start for Lancaster, scoring an early goal through Harry in the opening few minutes. Bangor made it clear however that it would not be a simple game for the away side, equalising shortly thereafter. Despite this however, Lancaster went into half time with a healthy 4 goal advantage, largely down to the great attacking efforts of Harry, Mike & Liam.
This made the second half all the more challenging, with the Bangor side having it all to play for, and with the support of the home crowd, managed to reduce the deficit to 2 goals, with them winning the 3rd quarter overall. However, the solid defensive work shown by Luke, Ash & Jonny, as well as the great shift put in by the middies Andy, Simon & John, saw the tightest game of the season so far out, crowning the new league champions as Lancaster, with their 100% record remaining intact.
The chance of a perfect season is now a distinct possibility as we look forward to Newcastle away in the cup next week, followed by the last league game of the season at home vs Keele in 2 weeks time.
Scorers: Harry (4), Mike (2), Andy (2), Liam (1)
MOTM- John Lewis. Great display in midfield.
DOTD- Simon. Bangor's best player.

Lancaster are now the Northern 2A league champions after an impressive 9-7 victory away to Bangor. This marks the 10th victory from the 10th game of the season, cementing the men's

start to the season, and giving Christian a great send off as he heads back over the pond next week.
It was a great all round team performance from the 19-man strong Lancaster squad, with a great mix of well tested, experienced lacrosse players, with enthusiastic stars of the future.
The game was all but sealed by the end of the 3rd quarter, where Lancaster were already defeating the Manchester outfit by 15 goals, with no great threat coming from the opposition.
An assertive attacking performance from Mike, Harry, Andy and Tim set the team up greatly for yet another comprehensive victory.
This result puts Lancaster 6 points clear (at point of writing) at the top of table, with only 4 league games left in the season.
Scorers: Mike (6), Harry (3), Andy (2), Tim (2), Simon (1), AJ (1), Christian (1), Neil (1)
MOTM- Mike. A great attacking display, scoring 6 goals. The Manchester defence couldn't get near him.
DOTD- Liam. For being so overwhelmed by the potential action of the game ahead in the warm up lap, he needed to fall over.
Lancaster ended 2013 in style by recording a 17-0 victory over Manchester 2nds in the 2nd away game of the season, keeping up the impressive 100%

HULL 1STS
gripped weather nearly brought the game to a close before it had begun, but with the go ahead from LUSU, the game faced off as expected at 2:00.
The game got off to a great start, which was reflected by the halftime scoreline of 9-0 to the home side, with defenders Dave, Lee, a returning Jamie & captain for the day Luke having very little to do.
This was a theme throughout the game, and with great attacking prowess shown by Mike, Tim, Liam, Simon and Rob, the game was always safely in Lancaster's hands. Hull simply never looked like causing any threat to the impressive home display.
Next week sees a massive game for the team, facing Bangor away, knowing that just a point would be enough to secure the league title and promotion. This game last year saw a fercious ending, with Lancaster being robbed of the 3 points unjustly in the dying seconds.
A big thanks to Andy for reffing the game!
Scorers- Mike (5), Tim (5), Simon (3), Rob (2), Connor (1), Liam (1), Pancho (1), AJ (1)
MOTM- Liam. A great attacking display coupled with good all round link up play.
DOTD- Mike. 5 goals. 1000 shots.

NEWCASTLE 2NDS
Lancaster advanced to the semi finals of this years cup as they had a commanding 12-4 victory over Newcastle seconds away from home.
Despite only 11 players making the 2 and a half hour trip to Newcastle, the team kept up their 100% win rate for the season, and the game never looked to be out of their reach at any point.
The game was off to a great start with early goals from Andy, Harry & AJ, resulting in Lancaster taking a 7 goal advantage into half time, with D men Dave, Ash, full debutant John Killen and goalkeeper Luke having very little to do (despite teaching their attackers the basic rules).
The game was always lancasters to dictate, with great performances in middie from John Lewis, Mike, Pancho and Connor, Newcastle struggled to get the ball out of their own half, with high amounts of turnovers due to the great pressure being applied.
We are now 1 cup victory away from the final!
Next week sees the last league game of the season, where we will face Keele at home!
Scorers: AJ (4), Andy (3), Harry (2), Mike (2), John Lewis (1)
MOTM- Connor. Started the game in attack, swapped to middie in the second half, yet played great in both positions.
DOTD- Pancho. Great at face. However, threw a blind scoop after strick instructions not to. Punishment to be dished out at training.

finished with it's 100% record intact.
The game was always Lancaster's to control, with the weakened Keele side not putting up a great fight, with the home side being able to take advantage of it's immense strength in depth, with over 10 substitutes eager and ready to join the action.
There were great attacking displays from Harry, Mike and Andy, as reflected in their 3 goals each, as well as Rob who scored two far out top left bangers, much to the crowd's pleasure.
Despite this, the defence was tested multiple times, but showed great resilience, with great defensive displays from Ash, Jamie, Lee and Dave when they were called upon. This was proven by the fact that goalie Luke had a shut out in 3 of the 4 quarters, making this one of his best league displays all season.
Thanks for a great league campaign boys, we can always say we had a perfect 10/10 season. Let's show Durham 2nds what were made of in the cup next week!
Scorers: Harry (3), Mike (3), Andy (3), Rob (2), Tim (1)
MOTM: Ash- Solid performance in D, played every minute of the game, with great body and checks all game.
DOTD: Rich. Cuz y'kno.

DURHAM 2NDS
I believe it was Nelly Furtado who said "Flames to dust, Lovers to friends, Why do all good things come to an end?"
And come the end of the semi final game vs Durham, the Lancaster side
was asking itself the very same question, as they were beaten 8-2, ending a near year long winning streak.
The foe were formidable opponents, and despite only having 13 players, Lancaster found it much more difficult to play it's usual controlling game, with solid defence coming from the Durham side.
Lancaster struggled facing a team that could massively take advantage on the break, with the defence conceding the highest number of goals it has all season.
Despite this, the game remained 1-1 at half time, giving the northern 2a champions hope in the remaining 30 minutes of the game.
However, the persistence of the away team won them a place in the final in Leeds, despite the solid effort from the 17 man strong Lancaster squad.
Great season regardless of the result boys, we will always have that 100% season! Let's push forward to Roses and get a victory on our home turf!
Scorers: Tim (2) (Totally not just 1)
MOTM: Tim- Great performance in midfield, capped off with 2 goals
DOTD: AJ. As if firing in the weakest shot in the world wouldn't be enough to guarentee DOTD, he decided in the 4th quarter to take advantage of the 9 degree heat and sunbathe.
